Turtles and Tiaras: A Birthday Party Idea for any Budget

Place-Cards for Children and a Simple Way to Decorate a Pre-made
Birthday Hat:

This is a simple idea for any child's birthday party or other celebration. I am passing along this idea from my wonderfully creative mother who actually suggested I have my children color the place-cards. Truth be told, they were too distracted with some new toys when I tried to call their attention, so I ended up doing this solo (it happens). I used card stock paper, a black marker, crayons and tape for the project.

How To:
I cut a small rectangle (approx 2"x4") out of Card Stock and folded it in half. I then drew the shape of Tiaras and Turtles (for the boys and girls), wrote the names of the party guests in marker, colored the drawings with crayon and then cut out the shape, following the outline. I taped the cut-out onto my place card. I like the look of crayon coloring inside the black lines of the marker.
For the Birthday "crown" hat, I did the same thing cutting out the shape of a crown, coloring it, then taping it to an inexpensive Cone-Party Hat. Voila! Simple, Inexpensive and super cute!

I absolutely adore those. My best friends little girl is having 2nd birthday party on Sunday and she's our little princess. I better get cracking, she'll love these.
