Fun Flower Cut-Outs: Modern Silhouette Making

Making your own artwork for your home can be super inexpensive and easy. A large portion of the artwork in my house was made by me, or my children and I feel like that really gives my home a warm personality. It doesn't have to be perfect, but when you put your heart in it, your home becomes a happy place!
This project is not only easy, but takes no-time at all to make. You have two options here, you can either draw the flowers yourself (which are supposed to look fun and funky, not realistic) or have your children draw the flowers. For the full tutorial click here, but for the gist, you simply draw on colored paper (I used green) the outline of some flowers--a very basic elementary outline--complete with stems. Cut out the flower shapes and paste them onto white paper. Frame yourself. I used a simple clip frame, very inexpensive, that I already had.

For extra fun,  you can bring to life a winter twig by taping paper flowers and leaves to the stem (see picture above).

Breathing the new life of spring into your home can be as simple as scissors, paper and glue!

I love this, but I am really craft-impaired, and I have a lot of trepidation about even trying to make something at this point in my life. (I am not being modest, it is SO not a gift of mine.)

You are inspiring me, though...and maybe, one day, I will actually give one of these things a go.

Thanks for sharing such a great idea. I agree that perfection isn't the goal, having fun is!
BTW - check out my post today on how my scones (from your recipe) turned out! Thanks again for the inspiration.

What kind of camera do you use? Think you can take a photo of the camera because I'm that slow and have a hard time learning stuff..........

That first photo is amazing as are dozens of other photos you've taken. I'd like to try to learn how you take photos, do you use photo editing software or do you have a fancy camera that has different lenses or what?

If I had all the same things and just used my camera, it wouldn't look as interesting.....I want to learn to do that.
