Finding a Home for Our Artwork

Friends who know that my household is a little crazy about making things often ask me, "Where do you put everything you make?" And that's a good question. The answer is that it depends on what we've made and how much we love it. Sometimes we make something that we forget about (usually a sign we're not "in-love" with it) and other times our project becomes a part of our home instantly. Since our home is small, I have to be careful not to make it completely cluttered, so I can't use everything we make, but I do try to decorate mostly with homemade things. As an example of this I'm posting images of the girls' rooms today. You can see how we've used our fun homemade things to decorate and bring cheer into places that should be filled with warmth and personality. If you've followed my blog for awhile, you might just recognize some things in these pictures!

I've had a few questions about this so here's the scoop. The projects featured in the above pictures were mostly from some of my first posts on Salsa Pie. I'm providing links to those posts here in case you get a "bee in your bonnet" to try one of these out!

What a beautiful room those girls share! And I think that the fairy and butterfly wings look absolutely PERFECT adorning the window! :)

Their rooms are darling....I love the silhouettes that you put above the beds. I know we have done those at Disneyland and I use to hang them on the wall. They are in baby books now. Did you do a post on how to make them? That would be a fun to do project for any age. A family tree wall of silhouettes!

i love finding a new place to put up something homemade. you look back on that now-filled space and it seems empty before. and besides, who doesn't love a good banner??

I would love to see more pictures of the various walls and corners of your home where the art "placed." It's fun to see how well it is incorporated and how much it enhances the look and feel you've created.
