Hi there!  I'm Joanne of Ready, Set, Craft! and I am just thrilled to be here guest posting at Salsa Pie today!  Salsa Pie is one of the few blogs I visit every single day, and I constantly marvel at Caroline's creativity and talent.  She's so inspiring!

Today I'm sharing my tissue paper brooches with you, which are the perfect kids craft for Mother's Day.  Even the littlest of hands can work with tissue paper and get in on the fun.  Shall we begin?

Here's what you'll need...

- Glue gun

- White school glue

- Stapler

- Tissue paper scraps in a variety of colors

- Flower punch (don't have one?  You could cut a flower freehand, or use a die-cutting machine)

- Cardstock scraps in a variety of colors

- Scraps of green ribbon

- Brooch backs

Here's the how-to:

1)  Punch two flowers and glue together.  Cut a scrap of ribbon about two inches long, fold in half to form a loop, and staple to the flower.  (Don't worry, the staple will get covered up!)

2)  Scrunch (yes, that IS a technical term!) some balls of tissue paper to make the center of your flower.  Apply a liberal amount of white glue and glue tissue paper balls to flower.

3)  Scrunch (there I go with that technical term again!) balls of tissue paper in a contrasting color to make the petals.  Attach to the flower, again using an ample amount of glue!  Set aside to dry.

 4)  Once dry, flip over and attach brooch back with hot glue gun.  This step should be done by an adult!

And there you have it!  An easy and beautiful Mother's Day gift for even the littlest of hands to make and give!

Any mother would be proud to wear one, or several of these lovely pins this Mother's Day.  Don't you think?

Many, many thanks to Caroline for having me here today!  Have a beautiful day!
