For Yuletide Cheer: Anyone Can Make This!

We're not finished decorating yet but for starters, here's an
Idea:

I have a confession to make.
I am a bit of a hoarder when it comes to greeting cards.
I read them, I get sappy, cry over them and then I keep them--for years and years and years. I have probably over a hundred cards from throughout the years.
My sentimental side bullies my practical side and I just can't bring myself to throw them away.
My guess is that others might have a much less exaggerated but similar problem.
The solution?
Recycle those old greeting cards and create some Yuletide cheer for your family! You can make simple ornaments or a garland out of the cards by cutting out shapes (we chose simple circles) then stringing them along a ribbon. We used photos as well which made the garland/ornaments a little more personal.

I'm trying to make kid friendly ornaments this year because of the baby (and, yes,  a house full of toddlers). You can't imagine all the tiny pieces of glitter chunks et cetera that end up around the house after we decorate. So, I'm trying this year to get the kids involved and make most of our ornaments out of kid friendly objects: paper, nature, food (popcorn, gumdrops) and so on.
I'll keep you posted if I am successful or not!
Want to make these too?
Here's How:

Deck the Halls and have a great weekend!

Gorgeous!! but I am funny about cutting my greeting cards...I have every card I've probably ever received....my oldest is probably from when I was in the 3rd grade and in the hospital. My teacher sent me flowers and a card. I still have the card. Wedding shower, wedding, baby shower, baby, second baby, all their birthdays, .........a box in the basement. When I'm old and gray ...I want to look over them and remember how much I've been loved.
